SFC Sells Out In Tupelo - UFM Shows Extremely Well

On Saturday, August 2nd, UFM's fighters were out in force when Summit Fighting Championships came to Tupelo.  The atmosphere at the Tupelo Furniture Market was electric as fans stood in lines that reached across the massive parking lot to see their favorite fighters.  Once inside it was standing room only in what may be the best event of 2015.

In front of a sell out crowd, the UFM fighters put on a show that will likely not be forgotten anytime soon.  Every attendee we spoke with had nothing but good things to say and they can't wait  for the next event.  Rumor has it that it might be in November.

The team went 6 for 7 fights which is remarkable.  Fans were using words like "Amazing" and "Fantastic" as they remarked on the event as a whole.  One fan stated "I have never been to an event that had this much action in it and I have been to a lot of MMA events.  There wasn't one bad performance out of any of the UFM guys!"

First time fight attendee Brent Collum said he would be back.  Brent and his wife Lori own Fourth Street Restaurant in Red Bay, Ala.  They traveled over 50 miles to see what all the fuss was about and both said they would most certainly be back.  "Man, that was awesome!" Brad stated.

Not only did fans get to see the best fights, but many of the old timers got to see some of their old favorites like Chris Gates, Jeremy Kilgore, and Jon Price, all of Team AGEMA who were there to cheer on their old friends and teammates.

Grady, Brian, Isaac, Ben, "Zeus", Daniel, and Nelson were in shape and ready to fight.  It was obvious that Cody, Scott, and Jeff had prepared them well.  As Mark Romano says "Perfect practice makes perfect" and boy did these guys get close to perfect.  We are very proud of Team AGEMA and all the fighters.  Stay tuned for pictures, video links and other information.

Hurry over to the UFM Facebook page for lots more pictures from the event.

Special guests were Grady Hurley and Jeff Chambers.  They discussed Grady's recent win after 12 years outside the cage, upcoming events, and a lot in inside information on the fight game in the southeastern USA.

Special thanks to our old friend Michael Cain and Greg Livingston for shedding the spotlight on UFM Tupelo and the great guys who made it what it is today.  We look forward to next week's show where V3 fights may be discussed as well as Memphis Judo & Jui Jitsu.

UFM & Team AGEMA's Grady Hurley WINS big at Fitzgeralds Casino!

Well, that's all folks!  Grady Hurley, after a twelve year absence from the cage, walked away victorious on Saturday night amid thunderous applause and abundant cheers at Fitzgerald's Casino in Tunica, Miss..

Hurley, a longtime member of Team AGEMA, has trained with many of the team's fighters and coached many more.  His years of absence from the cage itself was due to a terrible auto accident years ago, but Grady decided to make a run at the cage one more time... and boy did he put on a show!

Jeff Chambers and Tony Palmer reported that Grady received a blow to the groin early on in the fight but recovered well and stayed confident in the cage.  By all accounts, he won the first round and then exploded during the second to win the fight by TKO before the round was over.

In case you missed the back story, the Daily Journal did a great article on Grady before the fight.

Thanks to Ashley Nicole Hattox, you can VIEW THE FIGHT on Facebook.  Just click and enjoy, but don't forget to like her and Grady as well as Ultimate Fitness and MMA.

Grady was a very gracious and humble winner.  Some fighters boast, some show off for the crowd, but Grady took the mic when interviewed to thank the hundreds of fans that supported him and traveled over a hundred miles to cheer him on.  Cody Floyd, Jeff Chambers, Jon Crump, Isaac "Ironman" Ware, and many of the UFM members were on hand to congratulate Grady.  Facebook "blew up" when his hand was raised.  People in Tupelo, Amory, Nettleton, Verona, Saltillo, Pontotoc, Corinth, Belmont and other communities had something to cheer about and that they did as Grady represented Team AGEMA, UFM Tupelo, and North Mississippi with honor and composure.
We would like to say CONGRATULATIONS to Grady for a job well done.  We look forward to training with you for years to come.

Daniel Hankins, 17 years of age, was set to make his debut in the cage at the same event; however, his scheduled opponent was unable to make the fight due to an emergency in his family.  We hate that the two didn't get to face-off in the cage but as Jeff Chambers stated "These things happen in the fight game.  Daniel "The Dirty Squirrel" continues to train and the hope is that he will appear on the Summit card on August 2nd, in Tupelo!

Stay tuned for more information on this major event in Tupelo.  It will be a "barn burner" for sure.  Rumors are already flying about who will be on the card.  My personal hope it to see guys like Johnathan "The King's Kid" Burdine, Bryan "Bad Intentions" White, and many of the other AGEMA "Elite Guard".  One can only dream, but if they are on the card, we can count on a night of explosive talent right here near home.

Between now and then we will have KING OF THE MATS competition in July.  We will get the date, time and location for you as soon as it comes out and is finalized.
Stay tuned!!!  And keep training.
